These are the ingredients we've decided will never hang in your car. Every formula we buy is screened against this list before it earns a spot in the lineup — the ones below are simply the best-known names on it.

Phthalates
Often used to carry and stretch fragrance. Every blend we choose is phthalate-free.
Parabens
Preservatives common in personal care products. Not in our fragrance blends.
Lilial
A floral fragrance ingredient banned in the EU over reproductive-health concerns. Excluded from our standards.
Also out: styrene, acetaldehyde, benzophenone
